Controls and Tips:

Press Space to advance dialogue, use the arrow keys to select your reply and Enter to confirm it, and ESC to exit dialogue completely. Use WASD to move, and hold 'E' to interact.

Story Concept:

At a certain age, all humans in this world presume the identity of an animal. It is a mask that must be adorned for their whole life, and dictates what their role in this world will be. It is often familial, and passed down, even regional. In this mix of 3d world and visual novel, follow as our main character, Tove, is at the epicenter of this, and about to journey to claim their identity.

Current Version Dev Notes:

- Trying to fix the environment textures asap!!!

- Sorry for the excessive camera movement! Working on a fix for a later version.

- Hoping to expand the village later, with a properly modeled and unique 3D environment, and plenty more NPCs to interact with and gain more story details from!

I am impressed with both the ambition and the problem-solving that went on here. The use of ready-made assets + your own original artwork (visuals, music, dialogue) shows y'all are developing a sense of proper scoping. Most professional games pull from different tools and solutions in service of story and ambience, so it is great to see you exercise agency about what can be outsourced and what absolutely needs to be of your authorship. I can totally see this expanded into a beautiful coming-of-age exploration story, with deep themes that are necessary in the context of the gaming market. The low-poly, hand-painted art is such a vibe! I hope you consider finishing the game slice. If you do, please let me know!

I love the art in this game, and transitioning from the cutscene at the beginning to the actual gameplay was a nice surprise. The camera shaking when walking was a nice bit of realism, but felt somewhat jarring to look at. The viewport is also a bit large, I would suggest shrinking it to something like 1920x1080. Overall though, great game!

Great game, I enjoy the writing and character design is very creative
